PRIVACY POLICY

Jewish Agency For Israel – North American Council (a New York nonprofit corporation) (“JAFINA” or any first-person pronouns such as “we,” “us,” “our,” or “ours”), recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of information we may receive from users of our website (the “Website”).

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, users include anyone who accesses the Website (together, “User” or “Users” or any second-person pronouns such as “you,” “your” or “yours”).

This Privacy Policy, along with our Terms of Use , describes the information we collect from Users, how we may use it and with whom we may share that information, the safeguards we use to protect such information and the choices you may make with respect to your personal information.

Defined terms not otherwise defined herein shall have the same meaning as in our Terms of Use.

 

Information We Collect

JAFINA has constructed its Website so that you may visit us and review information about our activities and functions, without revealing your identity or volunteering any personally identifying information. Please be aware that we automatically collect certain information about Users, including the Internet Protocol (“IP”) address of your computer, browser type, unique device identifiers for advertising (Google Advertiser ID, IDFA, Android Advertising ID or Advertising Identifier for iOS, for example), date and time of your visit, how long you visited certain pages on the Website, and the page or service you are requesting.

If you choose to contact us, request information, or extend a donation to support our activities, we will collect personally identifiable information (“PII”) from you, such as that indicated below, and this information may be combined, provide you with information you request, to ensure that we maintain complete, current and accurate personal information.

Data requested by JAFINA through the Website may be mandatory to allow the services provided by the Website. Failure to provide such data may make it impossible for the Website to provide its services. Where specifically stated that some data is not mandatory, Users are free not to communicate such data without any consequences on the availability or the functioning of the services.

We may use PII or aggregate and/or de-identified data about Users (“Aggregate Information,” or “AI”) for various purposes, including:

      1. enabling users to log in into the Website;
      2. administering and enabling use of the Website, including, but not limited to, communications at the email or physical addresses, or phone number provided by you, notification regarding the Website, such as any future amendments to its privacy practices or this Privacy Policy;
      3. ensuring all Users follow our Terms of Use and other rules and policies;
      4. banning a User temporarily or permanently for failure to follow our Terms of Use , rules and policies, or for other misconduct or inappropriate behavior;

      6. enabling Users to receive newsletters, updates, and other materials related to the JAFINA or its affiliates (which include The Jewish Agency for Israel and its subsidiaries, WZO – American Section, Jewish Agency American Section, and Jewish Agency International Development.

      8. improving the functionality, design and quality of the Website;
      9. performing the technical administration of the Website;

      12. any other purpose that JAFINA determines at its discretion is related to the use, advertising, marketing, promotion or other legitimate purposes of JAFINA or the Website.

Information You Provide Through the Site

We will utilize such personal data for the purpose for which you submitted it to us, such as to respond to your inquiry, collect a donation or for any of Our Purposes. By voluntarily providing us with your personal data, you are consenting that JAFINA may use such personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We may engage third parties to collect donations from Users, and for that purpose share with such third parties PII. The types of information that may be collected, stored and shared with such third parties may include Users’ full name, e-mail address and home or business address, credit card billing information including mailing address, bank account information and such other information that is identified in the Terms of Use or as may be requested from time to time. That information is safeguarded with appropriate security and it will not be used for other purposes. The third parties we engage to collect payment with whom we share information from Users have agreed to maintain the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the PII they obtain from the Website, and to only use this information on our behalf. We encourage all Users to read the privacy policies and other terms of such third parties’ websites before using their services. By using our Website you agree to abide by the terms and conditions of all applicable policies and terms of use of such third parties, and JAFINA is not responsible for any added layer of security beyond what is provided for by such third parties.

We do not collect or maintain PII for resale purposes, or share your information with any other company or organization, except as indicated herein or to the extent such other company or organization is acting as our agent for processing, collecting donations or crediting bank accounts, mailing purposes, etc. In addition, we will not send promotional materials to Users who indicate that they do not wish to receive such messages.

 

Interaction With External Social Networks And Platforms

This Website allows interaction with social networks or other external platforms, and their features directly from the pages of this Website. Those external platform may still collect traffic data, while you are using our Website.
The interaction and information obtained through the Website are always subject to the User’s privacy settings for each social network.

 

Donations

We would be extremely grateful if you choose to make one or more donations to JAFINA. In order to collect your donation we will collect your payment information, including without limitation Payment Card numbers, Payment Card verification numbers, and Payment Card expiration dates and keep a history of your donations. We use this information to process donations, through one or more third party payment processors. Such payment information will be stored on our servers and will be disclosed to such third party payment processors as appropriate to arrange for collecting your donation. We may ask additional information, to help us improve our Website.
All of your personal information, including your Payment Card number, are transmitted through the internet using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. SSL technology causes your browser to encrypt such personal information before transmitting it to our secure server. SSL technology, an industry standard, is designed to prevent someone other than operators of our Website from capturing and viewing such personal information. Since such personal information you provide to us via our Website will be transmitted using a secure connection, if your browser cannot support this level of security, you will not be able to extend a donation via our Website.

 

Do Not Track Disclosure

You can set you browser to a Do Not Track (“DNT”) setting, to notify websites you browse that you do not want them to collect and/or track your personal information.

Please be advised that our Website does not respond to the DNT browser setting.

JAFINA collects your PII over time and across third party websites or on line services for Our Purposes. If you do not want us to track your PII and other personal data, please do not share your PII with us.

Please also be advised that third party websites may keep track of your browsing activities when they serve you content, which enables them to tailor what they present to you.

 

Information Sharing Disclosure Requests

If you are a California resident, you have the right to request one Notice of Information-Sharing Disclosure per year which will identify the third parties with whom JAFINA or any of our affiliates has shared the personal information we have collected from you. The deletion of such data, however, may affect our ability to provide services to you. We reserve the right to verify the identity of any person making an opt-out or correct/update request, but shall have no liability whatsoever resulting from false or erroneous requests.

JAFINA is continually improving and adding new functionality and features to its Website. If and when our data practices change, JAFINA will post the revised policy on the Website. Such changes to the Privacy Policy will become effective when posted. Service Providers and Other Third Parties

Processing the data collected through the Website is carried out using computers and/or IT enabled tools, following organizational procedures and modes related to Our Purposes.

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate the operation of the Website, and to perform services related to administration of the Website (including, but not limited to, collection and credit of payments, maintenance, hosting and database management services, web analytics and administration and legal services).
